Difference between Hybrid and Sativa strains

For a lot of people who use medical cannabis, the sky’s the limit on what you want to use. If you’re living in a place that qualifies you for medical cannabis, you might want to look not this. Indica, sativa, hybrid strains, there are a ton to choose, and here, we’ll go over all of the different strains.

Sativa

Sativa is a good one for making you more focused, improving your energy, and boosting creativity in a lot of people. A lot of people like the mood boosts that this offers too! The downside to sativa is that they do make you struggle with sleep, along with rapid heartbeat. They usually grow in places with warm weather, especially in central and south America. This is something that also is different due to the small, skinny leaves and the slender nature, and usually are more light green in color.

This is a great strain for those who struggle with focusing, and also is good for some people who tend to need a little bit of a boost in their mood. One thing that it also does too is that it also reduces sadness, helps with headaches, reduces nausea, and also improves your focus. A lot of people who have depression do benefit from this, but don’t take too much as it can make your head rush and make your mind race.

Indica

Indica is probably the best for those who just want to chill after a long day. It’s a great one to couch lock you and is perfect for nighttime. The biggest side effect is drowsiness, so if you’re stressed or have insomnia, this will help. This is a strain that is great for dry climates, and usually are shorter and a lot bushier, with purple or dark green leaves.

The side effects of this are usually your mind and body are at peace, and it increases the dopamine n the body, rendering you fully relaxed in a ton of cases. This is also better for reducing anxiety too, and a lot of people who are stressed will use it. This one also is really good for pain managing too, as it’s very strong, and it can help to mitigate the pain that you’re feeling as well.

Hybrid

This is a type of strain with a combination of both, which basically is a mixture of two different kinds of strains. Usually, these strains tend to be more indica-dominant, so it’ll probably have more of a relaxation or body high. Most of them do produce the perfect 50/50 though in a lot of cases, so it does offer the body high and the head high, but what you experience does depend on the type of strain that you have, so it does depend on what you’re taking, and the parent plants that it’s from.

With all hybrids, they’re all very different, since they’re bred through combining different plants together. Some of these are good for stress, others are good for treating symptoms such as nausea. The best thing to do with hybrid strains is to read up on it, and then, ask a budtender what the best type of cannabis will help if it’s a hybrid strain.

Not all hybrids will create a down-the-middle reaction, as due to the terpenes and flavonoids, some of them may produce other side effects. With that in mind, do use some judgement for this, and make sure you pay attention to what the sides of the strain say before you smoke it, as it can have a variety of different effects.

Prescription Drugs vs Cannabis - Who’s Winning?

When it comes to the pro-cannabis argument in the United States, there is a big push for its place in the alternative medicine department. Governments in the United States are well aware of the opioid problem that is going on in our nation, and medical marijuana could potentially relieve some of that problem.

However, there is a bigger argument and more at stake than just opioids. When it comes to the pharmaceutical industry in our country, there is a lot left to be desired. Prescription medications in the United States are not only expensive, but they are also not well regulated and often misprescribed. Furthermore, a lot of medications offer some pretty serious side effects that can be pretty awful in the long run. Elderly medical patients usually end up taking a whole host of pills from morning to bedtime to treat different ailments, diseases, and conditions.

There are plenty of reasons for why elderly patients should have better access to medical marijuana as an alternative to taking everyday painkillers and other prescriptions like that. Like I mentioned previously, medical marijuana could potentially replace harmful drugs like opioids that have shown to be very dangerous and ineffective. Over half of all prescriptions for elderly patients are for opioids - it is no wonder why these same patients are dealing with the most addiction and overdose problems out of any other group.

Even if it is not coming down to opioids, prescription medications can be a serious problem for older people that do not necessarily know enough about what they are being told to take and how it is prescribed. Cannabis reform could lead to better treatment options for these patients and leave them in better places than before.

It is also true that cannabis has less dangerous side effects than a lot of medications out there. It is true that every medication or drug, including cannabis, has its side effects. However, if we are looking at the ratio of bad side effects to beneficial ones, cannabis clearly wins out.

Many medications that are so readily prescribed to elderly patients can cause awful side effects like organ damage and addiction, and eventually lead to death. The older people in our nation deserve better than this. Also, like I talked about earlier, medical marijuana deals with a lot of the conditions that are most often experienced in elderly patients.

Even healthy people begin to experience health problems as they grow older - it is simply the way that our bodies break down. Arthritis, cachexia, diabetes, cancer, chronic pain, osteoporosis, and many others commonly occur in older medical patients.

Most notably, many states that have a medical marijuana program include these conditions and many others on their state’s medical marijuana programs. Do you know why that is? It is because cannabis is great at treating them of course!  Furthermore, it can be much easier to adjust doses of medical marijuana than it is with other commonly prescribed medications for older patients. Many people have a limited choice of medications available to them for their illnesses.

Plus, it is also true that changing medications or discontinuing them can take time to taper off, otherwise there is the risk of going through withdrawals. Medical marijuana can be prescribed in a great variety of ways and this means that there is something for everyone. Whether you want to smoke weed, eat cannabis infused candies, or use oils or tinctures, there is something for you out there! If government bodies in the United States are able to keep an open mind about the use of cannabis in our medical system, all of our lives would be better.

How to prevent cannabis Anxiety

Anxiety and weed are more connected than we thought. There are many studies that have looked at cannabis and some of the constituents as a potential way to treat anxiety, but there are some that also can be a trigger for paranoia, with some even making it possibly being a way to create more anxiety. It can, however, help with treating various anxiety conditions and disorders.

It’s vital that we make sure that both medical and other users are sometimes victim to those who have weed anxiety, and it’s something that makes dealing with various conditions far more important. Solet’s talk a little bit about it, and how to prevent it.

What Weed Anxiety Is

There are certain situations which cause anxiety, but sometimes with weed, it can create distress in a person’s mind, usually mental. It can cause stomach issues, sickness and vomiting, and so much more. It can also create panic attacks too, and cannabis use with anxiety are far too common.

Weed anxiety usually comes with certain signs. First, it begins with bad thoughts coming into your mind, usually ruminations that are troubling, or those which are hard to get rid of, and then it creates physical symptoms similar to different panic attacks, and inability to move in a comfortable manner.

People that deal with episodes of this condition oftentimes report that they’re trapped within their own head, with their thoughts becoming far too loud, and they feel like they struggle to follow what’s currently going on. They may look around, feel like they’re being watched and whatnot.

How do I stop this?

The best thing to do if you have this, is to accept that yes, you’re anxious. If you feel a bit better about this, you’ll be able to handle the reduction of anxiety even when there is no weed involved. The best way to treat this, is to take some breaths, and ten wait till you feel normal once again.

A good way to prevent this is to take either a cold shower or put some cold water down your neck. This can pull you out of a state of dazed and confusion. Eating and drinking something also pulls you out of a panicked state. You also may want to distract your mind. Relaxing music that helps you feel good, and something that takes you out of the racing throughs is definitely super important to look at too.

You also may want to force a mindset that’s positive, even though this is hard. This is something that helps you nudge yourself towards a mindset which is much more positive, helping you get a much better disposition as a result of this. With recreational weed anxiety, this does get strong at first, but it does wane with time, and time is the best way to wait it out.

In some cases, especially with weed anxiety, the symptoms do depend on the way you take this. The problem with edibles, is that if you take too much, it does cause weed anxiety, lasting a lot longer than if you inhale it through vaping or smoking. That’s a lot faster. It’s important to realize that it can take anywhere form 10 minutes to a few hours before you feel “normal” again. it may feel like forever, but if you try this, and you also use the techniques to help mitigate those feelings, you’ll be a lot better off.

It’s important to make sure that you understand what your brain is going through, and make the changes as needed to enhance your experience.
